It seems that I can never settle on which type of personality I have. I usually say I am loner, that I prefer sitting quietly at home rather than be out there partying or celebrating. But then, I realise that may not always be the case. I do enjoy attention from time of time, I want to be at the center of things and on the occasions, not that bad with people. Unfortunately, these 2 sides of me never surface at the right time and place.
This OP is just so addictive. I’ve been putting it on repeat for entire days now. You don’t see many anime OPs without a vocal out there. Plus, the music fits really well with the series. It’s kinda eerie, but also upbeat; a bit sad, but also inspiring. A good welcome for anyone wanting to take on the anime series.
The OP also presents a powerful message. It signifies the bizarre world our characters have been living in. In our “normal” world, they are nothing but black-and-white figures covered in blood. On the other hand, they are perfectly at home with another world in ruin, where there are no ones but their own. I can never forget that scene with Kotori’s bloody smile while other girls her age run around happily together. Since I’ve read the manga before watching this, it just makes a lot of sense to me.
Overall, enjoy 🙂
I stumbled across this little gem today pretty much by random. Saw this artwork on my Facebook News Feed and thought it was nice, so I googled it and learned that it was from a short manga series called “Shinonome Yuuko wa Tanpen Shousetsu wo Aishite Iru” ( transl: Shinonome Yuuko Loves Short Stories, whew!). You can read it online HERE.
One thing I often see when looking up Gokukoku no Brynhildr, is the mention of the mangaka’s previous works, Elfen Lied. There are lots of comments like “Oh, same author as Elfen Lied eh?” and “I bet it will end the same way as Elfen Lied did”. So naturally, I got curious and decided to read the manga.
Just finished reading SnO today. That was one hell of a read, so I thought I should write something about it.
“Tomoki Sakurai is a perverted teenage boy whose motto is “Peace and quiet are the best,” and often has dreams of meeting an angel. He finds it difficult to live in comfort when he has to put up with Sohara Mitsuki, his next-door neighbor with a killer karate chop; Eishiro Sugata, an eccentric pseudo-scientist bent on discovering the “New World”; and Mikako Satsukitane, a sadistic Student Council President. One night, while he was witnessing a strange anomaly in the sky, an UMA (Unidentified Mysterious Animal) crash-lands nearby. Tomoki discovers what fell from the sky is a winged female humanoid named Ikaros from an unknown world of Synapse, who soon declares herself to be Tomoki’s servant. From then on, more creatures known as “Angeloids” arrive; with this, he loses his peace and quiet, but at the same time finds pleasant things the Angeloids bring him, and fight the forces that fall upon Earth.” ( From Wikipedia)
Well, turns out today is the day I write my first post, not yesterday. Guess the usual me acted up.
Yesterday I wanted to note that I finished working on that damn “Bo on the Go” series, season 1. A strange sense of accomplishment. And as usual, the first thing I claimed after that was “I ain’t never gonna do it again”. But thankfully, I came to my senses and realised that it was a very good source of cash to come: relatively long episode but pretty short scripts to translate. The result? I took up the remaining 2 seasons. And that’s the news for today: I got another series to work on, bringing my total amount due to…wait for it… 9.3 mil!! Shave some of that off for expenses and I still has 2 to 3 mil to spend, and that’s not counting if I’m gonna borrow money. Bad news though, is that I have to wait till the end of the month to get it. Well, just 3 weeks to go. Continue reading
